A the end of November we are bringing you the cracking West End smash hit The Ladykillers. Based on the 1955 Ealing comedy that starred Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom, this highly successful adaptation by Graham Linehan (of Father Ted fame) perfectly captures the classic story of a daring robbery, extraordinary musicianship and bizarre comeuppances, topped with a bevy of giggling old ladies and set in a crooked house in King's Cross that shakes to bits every time a train goes past.
Anyone who has seen the original will remember the story well: posing as amateur musicians, Professor Marcus and his gang rent rooms in the lopsided house of sweet but strict Mrs Wilberforce. The villains plot to involve her, unwittingly, in Marcus's brilliantly conceived heist job.
The police are left stumped but Mrs Wilberforce becomes wise to their ruse and Marcus concludes that there is only one way to keep the old lady quiet.
With only her parrot, General Gordon, to help her, Mrs Wilberforce is alone with five desperate men. But who will be forced to face the music?
