March 2009

Performances of this very funny and moving play will take place from
Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th March in the Bovingdon Memorial Hall, 7.45 pm.

Set in the far western isles of Ireland in the 1930s, this play combines the true story of the making of the film ‘Man of Aran’ by Robert Flaherty with the fictional tale of ‘Cripple Billy’ who sees this film as his opportunity to escape from the insular life on the island of Inishmaan, and from all its wonderfully quirky inhabitants.
